Product Love :: Berkus for Target Picks

I have long loved Nate Berkus and his no fuss down to earth approach to design. Like most design junkies I was excited to see his collection for Target launch last week. I was probably overly thrilled to see a nice balance of tchotchkes...I mean if there is something Nate knows best it is tchotchke placement. The man can accessorize a room like nobody's business... I mean come on. I was also pleased to see plenty of gold and yellow accents in his collection. In true Berkus style he did not disappoint. Here are my top picks from the Nate Berkus for Target Collection. Xo - Annie

His & Her Bath Design

I was thrilled to receive an order for two bathrooms. Nothing makes me happier then selecting tile and plumbing and I know how strange that sounds. The best part about this project was that I got to design two separate baths, one for him and another for her. I'm usually trying to meld the two styles, which can become a challenge. The mission for his bath was to create the black and white vintage look (love it). Then for her bath she requested a spa retreat (love this too). Both baths needed to be done in a cost effective way and be smart for resale down the road (no problemo). Here are the designs I came up with. Have a great weekend all! Xo ~ Annie

Workspace Above Bed

I am kind of a space nerd and get overly excited when I see creative ways to utilize space. This is such a brilliant office idea because it's modern, clean and the perfect balance of natural and industrial elements. Not only does it save floor space it utilizes the high loft ceilings. It's design perfection all around. You just can't be uncomfortable with heights. Xo ~ Annie

Log Entrance

I love an interesting wall detail that creates a focal point. I was jazzed to see this cut log wall idea at katescreativespace.com. I can visualize a detail like this so many different places. It would be lovely on either side of a fireplace or headboard wall. Actually it could be the headboard wall. What I love is that it's natural artwork and the best part is you could totally do it yourself and AFFORDABLELY! Check out more details HERE.

The Eames House

I visit L.A. often to see my folks and family, but I have never been to The Eames House. This home was designed by the extremely talented husband and wife Charles and Ray Eames. Most are familiar with their furniture designs, but not their architecure skills. The home is located in the lovely Pacific Palisades....it's pretty much my dream house and location. My next trip I will definetly be taking a drive to admire this work of art. Get more details about the home on laplaces.blogspot.com Happy weekend all! Xo ~ Annie

Trendsetting Pumpkins

Every Halloween I look forward to seeing the creative ways people decorate pumpkins. I especially like the ideas that don't involve carving. My daughter is still too young to notice if our home is pumpkinless, so I just enjoy the pretty photos on blogs. However, I do look forward to a future of creating hot pink, gold and ombre pumpkins with her. My favorite pumpkin decorating round up is on the blog Handmade Charlotte. I love finding a new blog, especially ones with wonderful DIY ideas. Handmade Charolotte has rounded up pumpkin ideas from some of my favorite blogs and websites such as, Funkytime, Real Simple and Poppytalk. Check out her round up to create your own trendsetting pumpkins for the stoop at Handmade Charlotte. Happy pumpkin decorating! Xo ~ Annie
